07/18/2007
Formerly the Colorado CleanTech Initiative (CCI), Mountain Clean Energy Ventures (MCEV) focuses on developing new start-up businesses, based on technologies developed in the Colorado Front Range. It helps businesses grow from the ground up and provides a base from which to provide jobs for Colorado residents, ultimately creating a sound foundation for a Colorado Clean Energy Technology Cluster. MCEV provides:
  • An open, and interactive, monthly forum for entrepreneurs, investors, and other business support organizations to interact with, learn from, and link up with each other on clean energy markets
  • A robust business mentoring network using serial entrepreneurs (a key differentiator compared with traditional incubation processes or angel investing) experienced in high return on investments
  • Virtual incubation by experienced mentors, for companies in the pre-seed stage, and beyond
  • Strong ties to NREL, the Collaboratory (including CSU, CU, CSM), as well as to a wide range of investors, including the Rockies Venture Club, and the Keiretsu Forum
  • A pathway for developing a coalition among economic development organizations along the Front Range
